Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
Torrey Pines state natural reserve is a 1750 acre reserve that is located on top of the Torrey Pines state beach. This reserve has dedicated the name to its content, the pine trees and other several indigenous wildlife that are located in it for their natural habitat (Whittall, 110). The park contains well-kept terrains that go all the way to the cliffs giving the hikers a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean (Hierl, 170). The paths are easy to trail and are also family friendly that gives its visitors a great experience when hiking (Cole and Eugene, 343 & Davis, 74).
Starting on the tour of the reserve, together with others we headed towards the trail head where we spotted lots of pine trees and cactus along. We finally set our feet on the first set of stairs of the trails that gave us a wonderful view of the ocean and some surrounding cliffs. The trail continued offering another nice view of the beach. Further beyond the beach view, we passed some sandstone outcrops. From here, almost all the turns we made gave us breathtaking views of the cliffs that are sculptured by long-term coastal winds. We found ourselves near a viewing area that is a fence to prevent us from going too near to the heavily eroded areas as it might collapse with tourists.
