Notably, depression harms both physically and mentally (Videbeck, 2011). For this fact it is said to have affected an individual efficacy to work and typically function especially in a social setting like family and among the friends or peers. In our contemporary societies, the probability of coming across an individual who is suffering from depression is quite high. Such is because; the research estimated that around sixteen percent of the adults in the society always suffer from depression throughout their lives. Likewise to the women who are more susceptible to depression disorders caused by the interpersonal social interaction. In most instances, depression is not easy to see for any average observer. Parents who suffer from anxiety have recorded stress I the attempt to meet the demands of parenting. Depression impacts the emotional and physical challenges that such parents always show towards their children. Depression has resulted to the poor parenting of late since the children who are nurtured by depressed parents will becomes withdrawn as well.

Family Set Up and Depression
Our contemporary societies get composed of the family system. It is argued that when one member of the family becomes depressed, the whole system of the family may be disrupted. The rest members of the family are also seen to be disrupted just from a single anxiety developed by one member. Interestingly enough, sociologist argued that depression is a disorder that can lead to separation of the family or help in bringing it together. Psychologist, therefore, advise that the family members should beware of what they should do whenever one of their embers is exposed to such anxiety. Some of the outrageous effects of depression on family member may include division, neglect, anger and stress, and positive change.
Division
Comh.ca (2015) projected that depression energizes the drive towards separation of some family members. This fact results from the misunderstanding among members of the same family. Some members may assume the symptoms of depression and attribute them to personal differences or motives. Such will create a great rift between the spouses that can eventually lead to divorce or separation. Separation of a family is a factor that will eventually affect even the children level of performance.
Neglect
Just like the family separation, depression has also caused neglect among the friends and family members as well. If one member of the family or social friend is depressed, other members can ignore such a person (Comh.ca, 2015). The neglected member will feel withdrawn and may lack the sense of belonging.
Stress and anger
It is said that when one member of a family is depressed, it can cause stress to the entire family members. This can, in turn, result in anger from the rest members of the family towards he depressed individual. The conductive and loving environment is then disrupted completely as members will not accommodate each other’s opinion. The buildup of stress among the family members will eventually result in unethical behavior such as suicides and death.
Financial impact
Individuals who suffer from depression have been noticed to have lowered their ability of production. The level of production of such individuals is comparatively low since they devote their time to seeking treatment and their attempt to adjust to the disorder. Therefore, their financial ability becomes lowered the general living standards of such patients hence drastically reduces.
Depression among close friends
According to Steger & Kashdan (2009), a lonely person is compared to a lonesome object. Human beings are creatures who should be able to connect with fellow friends and gain acceptance in one of the social groups. A sense of belonging is very vital in every individual’s life. Friends always form the bonds that help to maintain such connections. They attain this by sharing the same social behaviors. Friends that suffer from the bondage of depression are seen to manifest disconnection between their social interactions. However, those friends that experience positive social interaction are firmly attached to one another and hence feel the sense of belonging. Depressed friends are always withdrawn and lack social skills.
Many a times they seem to be antisocial and projects unethical behaviors amongst themselves. This aspect can lead to disconnections amongst the close friends a factor that ill result to severe stress to the depressed partner.
Depression causes a rift to exist between friends. As much as friends have a close relationship, some friends may have a difficulty in handling their partners during the time they are depressed. Sometimes they feel like they need to give the depressed parties their space and time to deal with the issues causing the difficulties they experience. At this moment, the stressed individual feels alone and unworthy to be with their friends. A rift will, therefore, develop and friendship can at times end. There are times when even after the depression friendship cannot exist since the affected party will realize that the friends they had been not friends in need as the adage says.
Additionally, depression makes close friends to be rude to one another (Steger & Kashdan, 2009). This aspect is because the depressed individual has feelings of insecurity such that they perceive anything they are told as a bother to them. The fact that they are experiencing problems make them not to want to listen to their friends. The depressed party believes that their problems are too big to be listening to their friend’s issues. This factor can result in friends clashing and go against each other.
Consequently, Psyweb.com (2015) highlighted that depression is a factor that can cause friends to influence each other negatively. When someone is depressed, they will indulge in any activity that they believe will relieve them from their problems. These activities range from causing havoc, partying, drinking, and stealing. People would do these acts just so that they feel well and pretend that they are not depressed. A sad individual who has a close friend has higher chances of coercing their friends into participating in these activities with them (Psyweb.com, 2015). This factor is not healthy and can, therefore, lead one to do things they do not want just to seem pleasant. The influenced individual is also at a risk of getting into problems with the law. Depression is, therefore, a negative factor that can cause friends to get themselves in trouble.
Conclusion
Conclusively, the research depicts that depression disorder results to adverse effect among the social groups. These groups may range from family members, friends, and fellow colleagues. In this context, their social interaction becomes threatened. For instance, in the family setup, separation can result from the effects that are brought by depression. Rejection has been witnessed in the most instance within our contemporary societies. These emanate because of the anxiety disorder that many family systems always undergo. Notably, the defect has also been prominent among collogues and close friends in their social interaction processes. Friends are evident to have possessed antisocial behaviors that create conflicts amongst them hence lowering their performance level.
Depression has also resulted in the assimilation of negative characters especially among the friends of the teenager’s age group. A depressed friend may lure their friends to indulge in criminal and unethical activities such as stealing or drinking (Steger & Kashdan, 2009). Those behavior developments may make someone violate the rules of the land and what the prescribed traits that society expects from an individual. Ideally, members of certain social interaction should conceptualize on best avenues they can always use to help the handle well their colleagues who may be suffering from such psychological disorder. This aspect can be applied even in the workplace to increase the production rate of every individual. If not handled earlier, depression can reach its chronic level thereby causing a significant harm to the members of a social class.
