To become a registered nurse, individuals require a bachelor degree in nursing. While it is possible for a person having an associate’s degree to also work as a registered nurse, those with a BSN are always ranked higher. As compared to those with associate’s degree, registered nurses with BSN earn higher salaries. Moreover, they have more responsibilities and supervisory roles. Therefore, there is the need to become a registered nurse with a BSN.
I never woke up one day and decided to pursue BSN; it was a life-long dream. I had always wanted to be a nurse since I was young and throughout my life in primary and high school, I never considered doing another course apart from BSN. Therefore, completing the course is a dream realized. Being a professional nurse was my dream. This dream was one of the key factors that motivated me to finish my BSN. Serving in other leadership capacities was another factor that prompted me to complete my BSN. Notably, in the medical profession, most leadership roles required a nurse to possess two critical things namely a BSN and years of experience. In this regard, I knew that completing my bachelor’s degree would give me a chance to expand my thought process and mind and as a result enable me to better serve in any leadership position. More importantly, I knew that completing my BSN would propel me towards realizing my dreams since I knew it would expand my career options.
