Subject: Course of Action Following the Retirement of the Executive Director
At the subsequent board meeting, several significant matters should be subject to deliberations, particularly following the retirement of the executive director. This memorandum focuses on the best course of action based on the subject developments affecting the board. The recommended course of action entails a review of the boards’ roles as the executive leadership and governance of the non-profit. Based on my review of the current processes and procedures, the succession planning will result in some complexities with most of them attributed to the consistency and efficiency in leadership and governance as the primary roles of the board. Assertively, the proposed course of action explicates the core functions of the governing board and how they will be advantageous when addressing the different complexities.
