Abstract
A narcissistic personality disorder is a common condition across all ages. The severity of the disease varies but some of the most common symptoms include an exaggerated sense of self-importance, need for excessive admiration and belief that they are superior to others. The implications of Narcissistic personality disorder are commonly seen in the social aspect of the community like school, family, and relationships among others. This essay analyses the consequences of NPD on relationships. As is evident in this analysis, narcissist tends to be aggressive whenever their partners criticize them which lead to abuse either physically or emotionally. Narcissistic individuals do not take criticism lightly and tend to be more abusive as a way of making them feel superior to their counterparts. On the other hand, however, some researchers posit that being in a relationship with a narcissistic person is more enjoyable at the beginning of the relationship. The study thus concludes that the relationship is not safe for anyone.
