Perspective One
Indeed, children exhibit higher rates of the heartbeat as compared to adults. According to the medical journal “Normal Pulse Rates for Kids,” while adults record about 60 to 100 beats per minute, children typically have a higher heart rate ranging from 43 to 181 beats per minute (Iannelli, n.d.). When the heart rate is in excess or below these values, the parent should be wary because of the high probability of an underlying medical condition. Whereas such fluctuations can be attributed to various factors such as physical activity and medical conditions, I believe that higher children heart rate is primarily attributed to elevated metabolic processes that facilitate growth processes. And as growth processes stop in the latter stages of adolescence, the metabolic and heart rates reduce.
Perspective Two
My biggest concern regarding the genetic coding has also been the role of the largest constituent of RNA (98%) also known as the non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs). While the role of messenger RNAs’ role in coding processes is quite specific, the lack of scientific tools to aid in research processes has made it impossible for scientists to pinpoint the actual functions of ncRNAs (Shedding light on the ‘dark matter’ of the genome, n.d.). However, I believe that this genetic material plays a critical role in gene coding. My assumptions are pegged on the fact recent studies have indicated that indeed ncRNAs play an ess…
