Should prisons provide preventative contraception to reduce passing sexually transmitted diseases (including HIV-AIDs)?
Prisons should be provided with preventative contraceptives to minimize the rate at which sexually transmitted diseases are passed from one person to another. For several reasons, inmates do not have the freedom to make many choices on what they should do and what they shouldn’t. Most of the inmates may have the capacity to receive better medical care in case they are not in the confines of the prison. As a result, the government is solely responsible for seeing that they are taken care of in the fundamental aspect of their welfare. And this includes the provision of better medical care whenever necessary. Offering preventative contraceptive is helpful. The prisoners are not endowed with the chance of choosing their partners. Other are vulnerable to assault thus the need to take care of them when the need arises. The preventative contraceptives may prove helpful not only to the inmate when they are in prison but also when they leave.
Should HIV-Positive inmates be segregated to its population (including those identifying themselves as homosexuals and heterosexuals)?
