The community crime map has more to offer when compared to Clear Map by the Chicago police department. The community Crime Map has data for several states in the USA whereas; the Chicago Clear Map carries only Chicago crime data (Chicago Police Department, 2018). If someone needs detailed overview on when crimes occur, they would instead settle for the Community Crime map as it allows for a smaller timeframe search while the Chicago map has a minimum a fixed timeframe of 1-90 days, on which cannot get modified to fit the needs of the researcher (Chicago Police Department, 2018). On interpretation, the community map is more straightforward to interpret as it provides analytics on the reported crimes. Each map has its benefits; for example, the Chicago map gives an actual number of each crime while the Community one does not, but it does give the place of crime commission, date and time (LexisNexis, 2018).
From the two maps when on compares Texas and Chicago, it is hard to quantify crime since the Community map does not give exact numbers of the crimes committed. In Chicago, crime is assigned to places while in Knox, the chart shows where specifically a crime got committed (LexisNexis, 2018).
