Abortion violates the right to life regardless of anyone’s social or religious beliefs. In the current society, abortion is one of the most controversial and conflicting issues. Most people believe that it is against humanity and consider it immoral and even describe it as murder. Such people tend to believe that no human being has the authority to decide whether to bring life in the world or put it to an end. What is abortion in the first place? As defined by the Oxford dictionary, abortion is; “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo before being capable of normal growth.” The Human Rights Act entails the protection of every human’s life meaning that nobody whatsoever can try to end someone’s life, and everyone has the right to be protected any time your life is at risk. I am pro-life who thinks that one should carry his/her cross and deal with the repercussions of their choices. An innocent child should not give their life owing to the mistakes of two other people.
Abortion is infanticide that is killing a living human being, regardless of the fact that the child is still in the womb. Think yourself as the growing baby in a mother’s womb, expecting to have a life somewhere after a specific duration of time. But, mysteriously, they are deprived of that life. As a normal human being with emotions, obviously, this would go a long way hurting you as the unborn child. As a matter of fact, our instincts remind us that it is unquestionably inhumane and strange to decide for another human being. Standing for the termination of an embryo before birth is inhumane, immoral and should be considered as a grievance crime. It encompasses ignoring the fact that the baby became a human being soon after conceiving.
Abortion is basically a murder since you are terminating the life of a human being for your personal interests. No matter how hard we try to justify ourselves, any woman who decides to terminate her pregnancy is aware and understands that she is doing the wrong thing. Most women tend to come up with different excuses, but the sense of their action still stands out, an action that will cost life a living being. Regardless of the fact that a child’s nervous system and consciousness are still underdeveloped while in the womb, the child is still a human being with the right to life. Scientists have proved that children in the womb begin recognizing things at a very early stage. Moreover, their hearts begin functioning on the sixth week as well as the brain. Therefore, when one decides to carry out an abortion, it is as a matter of fact bringing to an end the life of a human being that can already feel and think. One should not just take the responsibility of another person’s life; each one is responsible for his/her life. For example, one can smoke, take alcohol and spoil his/her life. By the end of the day, it will be your choice, and no one can stop you unless you make a decision on your own. However, it is very different when we speak of an unborn child; the fact that the child cannot make decisions at that time should not justify the reason for terminating such a life.
Though a huge percentage of the populations tend to belief that abortion is inhumane, there are several exemptions where abortion can be legal and right. There are instances where the life of the mother is in danger, and the only way to save the mother’s life is aborting the baby. This is like saving one’s life that is a positive idea. Abortions resulting from cases of rape, incest, and potential fatality to the mother are tolerable and as such we cannot judge such kind of abortions. In such instances abortion is preferable but when mothers carry it out for their personal interests with no good reasons have to be toughly condemned. As such, we must familiarize ourselves with both sides of the issue so as to understand it better and in a thorough approach.
Conclusively, abortion is a highly contentious issue that should not be taken lightly. However, I insist that am pro-life. I strongly consider abortion as illegal, immoral, inhumane, unethical and lastly but least murder. Living in the world where killing a child before it is even given a chance to see the world is per the laws and regulations will make no sense. The main point is that everyone should be responsible for their actions and should be ready for the outcomes whether good or bad. If murdering unborn children is allowed, then murdering other human beings should also be legalized. Unborn babies also have the right to be protected and have equal rights with anyone else in the world.
