The debate on fetal rights has in the past raised and still continues to raise numerous concerns in the legislative field. In every debate sessions on this issue, both pro-choice and pro-life supporters gather support for implementation of legislations and policies involving this matter. The deliberation regarding fetal homicide lies on the subject matter of a fetus killed by an act or acts of violence against pregnant mothers. I therefore agree with the post and support its arguments on this issue.
To begin with its initial argument, pro-life supporters of abortion usually advocate for laws that define the fetus as a being in fetal killing laws, or else they confer protection of the fetus. Some of the commonly used references to such laws include the Unborn Victim of Violence Act and the Fetal Protection act just to name but a few (NCSL, 2018). Those who advocate for these legislations are of the opinion that the lives of both the fetus and the pregnant mother should be overtly protected. They proclaim that fetal murder laws not only fairly outlaw abortion cases, but they also address both the unborn child and their mother.
On the other hand, pro-choice supporters of this issue center on the harm or damage caused to an expectant mother and the consequent loss of the pregnancy, and fail to consider the rights of the fetus (NCSL, 2018). They advocate for legisla…
